About the Program
The Fun 4 Fosters program helps youth in foster care attend camps, participate in sports, and engage in extracurricular and enrichment activities.
Eligibility
The Fun 4 Fosters program provides funding for enrichment activities like sports, camps, music lessons, and more. It serves:
Youth ages 3 yrs and older
Youth with an open DCYF Child Welfare case
Youth receiving Independent Living Program (ILP) services
Additional Guidelines:
Fun 4 Fosters does not reimburse for activities that have already been completed or already purchased equipment.
Funding is only available if costs are not already covered by DCYF or another program.
We are committed to helping foster youth explore their interests, grow their talents, and build lasting confidence.
WISH request categories
Education: tutoring, laptops, learning tools, college needs, etc.
Enrichment: camps, extra-curricular activities, sports, music or art lessons, etc.
Overall self-esteem: cultural connection, specialty clothing, therapeutic needs, self-expression, etc.
Requests that will not be approved under the Fun 4 Fosters program include, but are not limited to; toys, furniture, cell phones, gaming systems, utility payments, travel-related expenses, and car repairs. We are also unable to approve clothing and shoes that would be found regularly at the Foster Hearts store.
